I graduated specialising in embroidered textiles, but I now enjoy a mixed media approach to work, incorporating stitch alongside treated surfaces, wire, metals as well as traditional techniques. I aim to challenge how textiles are viewed by embellishing or reconstructing work, embracing the redefinition and transformation embroidery has undergone. As always colour plays a vital role. Introducing metallics has brought an interesting dichotomy between structure and embellishment.
