"My art is a reflection of how i see life...colourful, sexy and very funny"
Edward Blampied is an established Jersey born artist who studied art at Southampton University and The Winchester School of Art. He started his professional career illustrating "FRANKS FUN FEAST", a book of poems and quotations in 1999.
Edward spent some time working at the Jersey Pottery as a ceramic artist. But eventually, after developing his own original style of work, started his career as a independent artist. Edward's work can be diverse, from character works to sculpture to classic building paintings, but still have that unique look of a Blampied that's made his work greatly admired by the Jersey public.
Recently Edward has worked with Jersey Pottery again. He was commissioned in 2008 to design seven paintings for a range of oversized coffee mugs entitled "STEAMY DELIGHTS",which are on sale worldwide.
" I want my paintings to fill you with joy, and remind you of a less cluttered and complicated time. The world we live in can be cruel, and filled with worry and stress. I have created my own world through my paintings, a world of fun, bursting with colour, and just a little bit sexy too!"
