Dixie initially trained at the Chelsea School of Art as a painter, but later returned to a first love of pencil and water colour. Now working mainly in the two disciplines, Dixie always remains influenced by the same subject - the natural world. Dixie's portfolio ranges from large oil paintings of the Jersey Coastline through to finely detailed illustrations of the local flora, all of which is produced from a home studio.
